A Forest Wedding

Some weddings just stay with you, and this was one of them. Everything about the day felt so personal, heartfelt, and effortlessly beautiful.

The morning started at Prestige Oceanfront Resort, where the bride and her wedding party shared some quiet, excited moments before the day really got going. We took advantage of the hotel’s cozy charm for some bridal portraits, capturing the anticipation before she stepped into her dress—a dress she made herself. That’s right—every stitch, every detail was her own, and it was absolutely stunning.

Their ceremony and reception in Sooke felt like something out of a fairytale. Nestled deep in the forest, with sunlight filtering through the trees, the setting couldn’t have been more perfect. The love in the air was undeniable—not just between them, but from the friends and family who gathered to celebrate. Every moment, from the vows to the toasts, felt so deeply personal and full of joy.

Before heading back to the reception, I whisked them away to East Sooke Park, where we truly embraced that wild West Coast beauty. Standing on rugged cliffs with the ocean stretching endlessly behind them, it was one of those moments where time seemed to slow down. Just the two of them, soaking it all in before the party began.
